Senior Software Engineer - CS

Responsibilities

• ✓Plan, design and develop technical solutions that meet business requirements under Mastercard's engineering standards
• ✓Lead day-to-day system development and maintenance work to meet agreed service level agreements
• ✓Own the full systems development lifecycle, including requirements docs, use cases, and detailed test strategy
• ✓Handle production incident management, including root-cause identification and remediation on an on-call rotation
• ✓Select appropriate technical frameworks and delivery methodology, adapting artifact templates to each project's needs
• ✓Research and evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks, and take part in proof-of-concept work
• ✓Coordinate with vendor resources supporting existing products and manage offshore development activity day to day
• ✓Mentor and guide other engineers through all SDLC phases, including code, design and security reviews

Who You Are

• ✓Hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or have equivalent work experience
• ✓Have 3 to 5 years of experience in a related software engineering field
• ✓Show a broad understanding of software engineering concepts and delivery methodologies
• ✓Be high-energy, detail-oriented and able to work independently under pressure without close supervision
• ✓Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication along with solid relationship and organizational skills
• ✓Show a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results without being micromanaged
• ✓Be willing to work as part of a geographically distributed, matrixed project team

Nice-To-Haves

• ✓3 to 5 years of experience specifically delivering secure solutions within the financial services sector
• ✓Prior experience conducting knowledge-sharing sessions on new tools or frameworks for a wider team
• ✓Comfort coordinating offshore development activity across multiple time zones
• ✓Experience contributing to vendor technology selection or evaluation processes
