Wiring Harness Design Specialist - Siemens NX

Responsibilities

• ✓Create and develop 3D wiring harness routing using the Siemens NX Electrical Routing module against packaging requirements
• ✓Prepare 2D flattening drawings covering wire lengths, bundle diameters and branch details for manufacturing
• ✓Define and manage connectors, clips, clamps and protective coverings within the NX component library
• ✓Run routing feasibility checks, bend radius validation and clearance analysis against design standards
• ✓Generate and maintain BOMs, wiring tables and harness documentation for manufacturing and validation teams
• ✓Assess electrical characteristics and EMC implications arising from specific wiring harness design decisions
• ✓Coordinate end-to-end with tooling suppliers to keep harness designs manufacturable and on schedule
• ✓Apply mechanical standards and configuration templates consistently across harness design projects

Who You Are

• ✓Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• ✓Have 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in wiring harness or automotive component design
• ✓Be a medium-to-expert level user of UG-NX, Teamcenter and AutoCAD
• ✓Have good knowledge of electrical components and the ability to read technical datasheets accurately
• ✓Show solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles
• ✓Have direct experience coordinating with tooling suppliers from initial design through to delivery
• ✓Be proficient in using configuration files, templates and mechanical design standards
• ✓Demonstrate strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills applied to engineering challenges

Nice-To-Haves

• ✓Experience specifically with automotive-grade wiring harness design rather than general cable assembly work
• ✓Familiarity with EMC-focused design reviews for electrical routing in vehicle assemblies
• ✓A track record of independently managing supplier coordination without close project oversight
• ✓Comfort working across both mechanical and electrical engineering conventions in the same project
