Associate Engineer

Responsibilities

• ✓Work as an active member of a product or system team, contributing to features under senior engineer guidance
• ✓Write unit and system tests that give the team confidence common code paths won't silently break
• ✓Identify repetitive manual tasks within the team's workflow and help automate them where possible
• ✓Review and respond to incoming bug submissions, helping triage what needs attention first
• ✓Apply secure coding practices consistently, learning company standards as you go rather than assuming you already know them
• ✓Support senior colleagues during performance testing cycles and help investigate any issues that testing uncovers
• ✓Take part in special projects outside your regular team work as assigned by your manager

Who You Are

• ✓Hold a BA or BS degree, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience
• ✓Have 0 to 2 years of relevant experience, including internships or academic project work in software engineering
• ✓Be willing to learn Agile concepts and practices from scratch if you haven't used them professionally before
• ✓Be able to write basic unit tests and understand why test coverage matters for a shared codebase
• ✓Show enough curiosity to investigate a bug report properly instead of guessing at a quick fix
• ✓Communicate clearly enough in a team setting to explain what you tried and what you learned
• ✓Stay open to feedback from senior engineers, since most of this role's growth happens through their guidance

Nice-To-Haves

• ✓Any prior internship or coursework involving a real, team-based software project rather than solo assignments
• ✓Basic familiarity with version control systems like Git, even from personal or academic projects
• ✓Some exposure to automated testing frameworks or continuous integration pipelines, even at a beginner level
• ✓Comfort working with a bug-tracking tool such as Jira from a previous internship or course
