Section Controller

Responsibilities

• ✓Monitor and regulate train movement across an assigned railway section to maintain safety and punctuality
• ✓Coordinate real-time traffic scheduling decisions across multiple trains operating within the same section
• ✓Respond quickly to operational disruptions, delays or safety-critical situations as they arise
• ✓Maintain clear communication with station staff, drivers and other operational teams during live operations
• ✓Follow strict safety protocols and railway operating procedures without deviation under pressure
• ✓Keep accurate records of train movements and operational decisions for accountability and review

Who You Are

• ✓Hold a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university
• ✓Be between 20 and 33 years of age as on 1 July 2026, with standard government relaxations for reserved categories
• ✓Clear a Computer-Based Test covering analytical, mathematical and logical reasoning within a fixed time limit
• ✓Clear a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) assessing psychometric fitness for a safety-critical operational role
• ✓Meet strict medical standards for visual acuity, since prior LASIK or refractive eye surgery disqualifies candidates
• ✓Be willing to work rotational, round-the-clock shifts given the continuous nature of railway operations
• ✓Apply to only one RRB zone, since applying to multiple zones leads to rejection of all applications

Nice-To-Haves

• ✓Prior exposure to railway operations, logistics or transportation coordination, even informally
• ✓Strong performance in prior competitive government exam CBTs involving reasoning and aptitude
• ✓Comfort with high-pressure, time-sensitive decision-making in a live operational setting
• ✓Familiarity with DigiLocker or Aadhaar-based identity verification for a smoother application process
